2 Farm Days Coming Up

We'll be at 2 Farm Days coming up in the next month.

We'll have one on October 16, 2011 at Goats on the corner of New 441 and Tiger Connector in Tiger, GA.  You can't miss the place...live goats walking around the roofs of the buildings, a large multicolored goat sitting near the parking lot, and a place where you can feed the goats, plus a store where you can buy jams, jellies, drinks, boiled peanuts, etc.

The second one is on October 29, 2011 at Hillside Orchard Farms Store on Old 441 in Tiger.  It's off Worley Creek Drive on Sorghum Mill Dr. at the very corner of Old 441.  They have their corn maze during the day, and the haunted corn maze that night, their store is open and serves ice cream, fritters, homemade breads in all flavors, cold drinks, jams, jellies, relishes, sauces, has a walking trail, barnyard, animals, an ethanol plant, sorghum mill, hayrides, and our crafters will be there.

Please join us at both events...stop by and say hi!

Selling 99% of Business

I wanted to keep it all, but there's no way I'll be able to.  I'm selling both kilns, 1 large pouring table, kiln furniture, the reclaiming machine, and about 1600 molds, along with glazes, 5 large boxes worth, tools, and a lot of the large shelving units.  I started out @ $60,000, went to $50,000, then $40,000, and now I'm at $25,000 with no reasonable offer refused.  A UHaul will be necessary to pick up everything, a large UHaul!  My ad is also on Craigslist.  I will be doing ceramics still.

Cute Little Bunnies

I know it's coming up on Halloween, Thanksgiving, and Christmas, and I do have a lot of ceramics already ready for those holidays, but I love my bunnies too.  Dixie, my dog, decided she had to be in the picture when I was taking pics of the bunnies.  Here are Peter, Cotton, & Tail!  I'm offering them at $7.00 each or for the set of 3 at $18.00

Merchandise for sale, Molds too!

https://post.craigslist.org/k/jEzAnJqi4BGcGQTeiaJ75Q/t3ZPu?s=preview

My newest craigslist ad.  I don't know how else to go about selling.  Etsy.com, I was told, was a free site to go to where you could list your items for free...NOPE...20 cents per item.  That's fine and dandy if you don't have a lot...but over 1,000 items...gets a little costly!  Still have over 800 molds to sell too....am so desperate that am selling them at $2/ea.  Just need someone to come in and take them off my hands.  There's no way I'll be able to use them all!!

Waddle Pots, M&M Dudes, and Little Pumpkins, Oh, My!

Currently I'm taking orders for these....the Waddle Pot is $25, which pays for shipping and handling.  The M&MDudes are $5/ea. or a set of 5 for $20...the colors are Red, Blue, Orange, Green, & Yellow....the Brown just didn't look right to me!  The Little Pumpkins are $3/ea. or 4/$10...they are ALL customizable....any color legs and arm pipe cleaners, hands can be painted any color, and the shoes can also be painted whatever color, along with eyes.  On the Waddle Pot, whatever the eye color you want, and if you want the toenails painted, otherwise they'll have a whitewash over top of the toenails.  The Waddle Pot is painted and glazed on the inside, also waterproofed so you can plant plants in there!

Celebrate Clayton

This year I was able to participate in the Celebrate Clayton...have wanted to do that ever since we moved to Georgia, but never had confidence in anything enough to do it.  Then the ceramics shop happened to me and I found I loved making my own pieces look special in their own way.  An author will tell you that they can have the outline of a book all set and ready to go, but the characters take over and write it instead.  (Diana Palmer wrote that once, and I agree with her, as my characters take mine on a different avenue than I expect.)  I've seen on some of my ceramic molds the "suggested" way you paint them, and they're very nicely done...it's like a paint by number, which I loved to do when I was a kid, and still do from time to time.  Instead, I let the object tell me, and some of the time it can be good and sometime it can look really bad and it's a "do-over".  Not many times that's happened, though! Maybe some should!  Anyhow, after entering it, I found out on the night we were sitting up, that I needed a tent and tables...we were very lucky on that front!!!!!  Thank you Troy!!!!!!  Danny and Amber helped me set things up until 11:30 that night..I came home and started painting and woke up on the counter at almost 2 in the morning.  Was up at 6:30 getting ready and out of the house by 7:45, with boxes loaded in the back of the truck.  I set things up and was excited about showing certain people that ceramics can sell!!!!!  Ya'll know who you are!!  I painted while the festival went on, and it made the time fly fast.  Sunday was slower, but still sold some things...all in all ended up $20 in the hole, but I'd rather do that than sit at home and wonder whether it would've been a success!  Can't wait till next year!

Updates

Been doing a lot of painting and getting ready for the Celebrate Clayton that is coming up on April 30 and May 1 in downtown Clayton.  It'll be my first year there and I'm excited and scared at the same time....will I make enough money to cover the cost of the entry fee...the firings...the late nights...I cross my fingers that I do.
